Pythagorean Theorem Proof Presentation Project

There are hundreds of ways to prove the pythagorean Theorem. Next Semester, you get to choose a proof and present it to the class. You need to convince us that the sum of the squares of the legs of a right triangle equal the square of the hypotenuse, for all possible right triangles. (Worth 12 HW and 12 CW points) The Three Best will get either a new Mitsubishi Kuru Toga 0.5 Mechanical Pencil or a new Pentel GraphGear 1000 .5mm Mechanical Pencil

Possible Methods

Requirements

  1. Understand the proof (make sure it is a proof for any length, not merely an example that 32 + 42 = 52)
  2. Be able to clarify and answer questions about the proof
  3. Be creative.. try to do something that looks new and different (Be inspired by someone else's work, but build upon it. Don't just show us someone else's work, or plagiarize-- ie, claim that someone else's work is your own. Give credit where credit is due)
  4. Site your sources properly.
