Line 1: Line 1:
-The exam will be March 19 in Room 305Since March 19 is an X Scheduleit will only be a 45 minute classIt is cumulative exam that covers the summer assignment, the Magpie Chat-bot Lab, Picture Lab, Elevens Lab, The Java Methods Book  and chapters 2 to 5 of the eimacs "Be Prepared for he AP Exam" There will be 20 minutes to answer 10 multiple choice questions, and 30 minutes to answer 2 free response questions, each portion is worth 100 points (double the chapter tests). The 5 practice tests in your textbook is an excellent way to prepare yourself.+To prepare for the actual AP exam in May, we will be using several practice exams from the College Board in the next few months, starting with the Qtr 3 ExamThe AP exam in May will have two parts: Multiple choice (75 minutes) and Free Response (105 minutes), The last two classes of the quarter are short (a Friday schedule and an X schedule)so this quarter will be a little different, dividing an AP Practice exam into three partsThe Qtr 3 Exam is cumulative, just like the other quarter exams You will also be able to use the Java Quick Reference that the Colloge Board will provide for you in May

-It is a good idea to review  past AP Questions like ScrambleWord.  Remember to  go back and review the multiple choice questions and statements written in bold print in the text.  To review the free response, be sure to consult the Chapter 2 Study Guide and the  Chapter 3 Study Guide.  Don't forget that you don't need computer to practice writing code at javabat.com.  The free response will emphasize writing methods that deal with intdouble, and String and arrays of intdoubleand String that might need loop.  Practice writing loops, methods, and class declarations like the ones mentioned on the Chapter 2 Study Guide, Semester Study Guide  and javabat exercises.+The Qtr 3 Exams is a cumulative exam that covers the entire course from the summer assignment until Unit 10 of the College Board's Course and Exam Description (CED), Like before, the test will be curved. The AP Exam usually awards a passing grade of 3 for 50% correcta 4 for 65% correct, and a top score of 5 for 75% correct One way to think of it is an A is 3 correct for every incorrect, a B is 2 correct for every incorrect, and a C for correct for every incorrect

-The College Board has posted free response questions for you to practice with here.  +Part 1: The Multiple choice portion of the exam will be in Room 405 on Wednesday March 6, There are 40 questions (75 minutes), representing half your score  The other half is based upon the four "Free Response" questions (105 minutes).

-Finallyplease remember to get a good night's rest and a healthy breakfast! Some elegant solutions to these are at Skylitthe book publisher of our textbook.+Part 2: The first 3 free response questions will be in Room 405 on Friday March 8 (80 minutes max).  The first FRQ is usually based on methods and control structuresthe second usually asks you to write a class, and the the third usually involves arrays and ArrayLists,
